Manchester City’s move for Luca Paqueta progressing quickly

Manchester City’s move for West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta is progressing quickly according to reports.

Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato reports that negotiations between Manchester City and West Ham are progressing well, and the champions are confident of concluding a deal. He adds that the midfielder has already said yes to joining Pep Guardiola’s side.

Fabrizio Romano reports that City’s bid of £70 million from the treble winners for the Brazilian has been rejected by the Hammers. He further adds that David Moyes’s side is keen to keep hold of their star man but is aware of his desire to move to the champions. There is also a possibility of players being included in any potential deal Romano adds.

Jacob Steinberg of the Guardian reports that the midfielder is unsettled at the Hammers and is considering his future with the club. Further reported by Steinberg is the fact that Paqueta does not want to be involved in another relegation battle.

With the reports that Paqueta is unsettled, and negotiations progressing, City may clinch a deal for the Brazilian international sooner than expected. Adding a player of Paqueta’s quality would be an immense boost to City’s squad.
