Manchester City plot their move for Lucas Paqueta

Manchester City are plotting their move for West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta according to reports.

Reports have emerged overnight of talks between the two clubs over a possible deal for the Brazilian.

Fabrizio Romano reported that talks have taken place between the clubs. The transfer expert adds that it will be a tough negotiation for the treble winners.

Talksport also broke the news of the Premier League champion’s interest in the West Ham midfielder. They also add that West Ham are reluctant to sell the Brazilian.

City’s potential move for the West Ham man would add more midfield depth to their squad. With Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez departing the club for Barcelona, City do appear short of numbers in their squad. A move for Paqueta may mean Phil Foden could slot into the right-wing role with Bernardo Silva to replace the Algerian winger.

Lucas Paqueta would add a wealth of experience and playmaking ability to the City squad. He is a Brazilian international having represented his country on 42 occasions. He’s scored 9 goals in those appearances for the national team. He has played 41 times for West Ham adding 5 goals and 7 assists during his spell with the Hammers.

If a deal is reached for Paqueta it would add another talented midfield option for Pep Guardiola’s squad for this season.
