Manchester City lay down the law to Barcelona and PSG over Bernardo Silva

Manchester City have laid down the law to Barcelona and PSG regarding their interest in Bernardo Silva.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that the Premier League champions have told the pair that they have no intention to negotiate a deal for their star. He adds that the treble winners also intend to offer Bernardo a new contract to retain his services.

The news comes after Pep Guardiola told Barcelona to either put up or shut up in their pursuit of the City midfielder. Guardiola spoke before Sunday’s FA Community Shield of City’s desire to keep their Portuguese star at the club. David Bernabeu of Diario Sport reports that the La Liga champions had a €65 million plus add-ons offer ready for Bernardo.

After losing Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez this summer, Manchester City are intent on keeping Bernardo Silva at the club. They seem their key man is too important to lose after key players have already left the club this window.

The treble winners are determined to keep their star man at the club. If a new deal can be agreed with Bernardo Silva it will lay to rest the annual summer transfer saga. With the Premier League champions talking tough over Silva’s future, signs point to him remaining at the club.
