Riyad Mahrez completes move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli

Riyad Mahrez has officially completed his move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli.

The move was confirmed by Manchester City on their official website. It brings to an end Mahrez’s time with the treble winners after 5 years at the club.

Mahrez leaves after 236 appearances for City. He scored 78 goals and contributed 59 assists during his spell with the club.

He also won 11 major trophies with the club since joining Manchester City from Leicester City in 2018. With 4 Premier League win medals, 3 Carabao Cups, 2 FA Cups and a UEFA Champions League winners medal. Mahrez’s time at the Etihad coincided with one of the most successful eras in the club’s history.

The Algerian winger was a key part of this past season’s treble-winning side. His hat trick against Sheffield United in the FA Cup semi-final laid the foundation for Pep Guardiola’s squad to claim the FA Cup. It was a sublime performance in a crucial game from the mercurial winger.
