Ruben Dias is ready for Manchester City’s treble defense

Ruben Dias is ready for the challenge of Manchester City’s treble defense next season.

Speaking to the media before the champions opening pre-season friendly against Yokohama F.Marinos, Dias sounded ready for the challenge that lay ahead.

The defender made a point of saying the Champions League success is not the end of the journey: “For you to think that is all I need to achieve, you need to be small-minded or not very ambitious. Obviously you could think that your job is done, oh I won the Champions League, now I can hang up my boots. But with my career, even though it has been great so far, there is so much left to do.”

City’s inspirational centre back added that this season would pose a different set of challenges. He went on to add: “One big thing at this club is to finally win the Champions League- that will mean less pressure. It’ll be something good for the team, pursuing the dream again. The pressure will come, there will be tense moments, but we’ve been there and done it. That works as an extra plus, not a minus. All of us dedicated time to think about the treble, but maybe not to much, I chose not to.”

He expanded on that adding: “It was the most important thing to feel it and embrace it. We know it happened, the treble, the titles, but know you have to forget what you have just done and do it again.”

Ruben Dias appears ready for the challenge that lies ahead in Manchester City’s treble defense this upcoming season. As one of the leaders of the squad, he will have his teammates ready for what lies ahead.
