Josh Wilson-Esbrand set for Reims loan spell

Manchester City youngster Josh Wilson-Esbrand is set for a loan spell with French club Reims.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that the young left-back is all set to move to the Ligue 1 side for next season. The move will give Wilson-Esbrand more opportunities at potential first-team football to continue his development.

The City youngster spent last season on loan with Coventry City in the Championship. He made 14 appearances for the club as they made it to the Championship Playoff final. Coventry would ultimately fall short of promotion to the Premier League, losing to Luton Town on penalties in the final after a 1-all draw after 120 minutes.

Josh Wilson-Esbrand has progressed through the academy ranks with Manchester City. He arrived at the club in October 2019 from West Ham. The youngster made his debut for the City EDS side in the 2020/21 season. Wilson-Esbrand made his first team debut with the champions in September 2021 in a 6-1 Carabao Cup win over Wycombe Wanderers.

With another loan move to Reims on the horizon, it will give Wilson-Esbrand another chance to develop his career with first-team opportunities at the French club.
