Manchester City’s stance on Bernardo Silva reportedly revealed

Manchester City’s stance on Bernardo Silva staying at the champions or leaving the club has reportedly been revealed.

Sam Lee of the Athletic reports that City aim to keep their Portuguese star at the club. Lee adds that the champions don’t want to lose Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez in the same window. City’s Algerian winger is close to completing a move to Al-Ahli with the Saudi club bidding for his services adds Lee.

City has as reported by Duncan Castles of the Times have offered Bernardo a new contract to fend off interest from Barcelona, PSG and Saudi club Al-Hilal.

If the champions can keep the Portuguese midfielder at the club, it will be a massive boost for City as they set off for their pre-season tour of Asia. Bernardo is one of the most important players at the club. His versatility is one major weapon for City, on top of his talent.

With Ilkay Gundogan having departed the club and several other key players’ futures in doubt, keeping Bernardo Silva has become a vital move for the champions heading into their treble defense this upcoming season.
