BREAKING: Al-Ahli and Man City reach agreement for Riyad Mahrez

Al-Ahli and Manchester City have reached an agreement for Riyad Mahrez.

Following an initial £18m bid which was rejected, Al-Ahli have been successful with their second bid.

According to Football Correspondent David Ornstein, the deal will be worth £30m + £5m in add-ons.

As a result, Mahrez has been left out of the squad set for the preseason tour in Asia. The 25-man squad does include Joao Cancelo and Kyle Walker – both of whom were doubts amongst fans.

Ornstein for The Athletic said:

“Mahrez, 32, is set to undergo a medical tomorrow ahead of his proposed move to the Saudi Pro League side. He will sign a three-year contract with a conditional fourth.”

The deal will see the 32-year-old winger join the Saudi club for a whopping €35m.

Mahrez was reportedly disappointed during the business end of the season when he was left out of the FA Cup and Champions League finals.

The Blues will now look to replace the winger. With both Olmo and Raphinha being linked with moves to the Etihad.

This will be the second exit from the senior team this summer following the departure of captain Gundogan.
