Manchester City’s move for RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol is edging closer. Reports overnight have suggested the deal between the clubs is getting near as City get close to securing one of their major targets this transfer window.
Fabrizio Romano reported that talks between the two clubs have been ongoing despite a lack of recent updates on the move. The transfer expert adds that the only remaining issue is the transfer fee between the two clubs. He adds that the German club insist that their €100 million valuation is met. Romano has previously reported on terms being agreed between Gvardiol and the champions.
Negotiations between Manchester City and RB Leipzig for Joško Gvardiol have not stopped at all — still on. 🔛🇭🇷
Understand key point is fixed amount, no problem on add-ons. Leipzig insist on €100m fixed.

Jan Aage Fjortoft reports that it is just a matter of time before Gvardiol becomes a Manchester City player. He further adds that the two clubs have almost agreed on a fee for the Croatian international.

The two parties not far from each other in terms of fee
The 21-year old Croatian 🇭🇷 is left footed and will be a great reinforcement for City

As the deal nears completion, the champions are getting closer to having their primary targets secured just as pre-season begins.
Josko Gvardiol is one of the elite defensive talents in world football, especially for his age. His addition will further strengthen the champions ahead of their treble defense in season 23/24 and beyond.
