Charles joins fellow City academy players Gavin Bazuna, Romeo Lavia Sam Edozie and Juan Larios as moving from City to the south coast club.
As reported by Joe Bray of Manchester Evening News the Charles deal takes the figure above £50 million the champions have made from player sales to the Saints.
The young midfielder has been a part of the City academy set-up since under 9’s. He then went on to become a key part of back-to-back Premier League 2 titles in years 2022 and 2023 after signing professionally with City in July 2021.
He was made captain of the EDS side for the 22/23 season and made his senior debut for City in the 1-nil loss to Brentford on the final day of the Premier League season.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano Manchester City is believed to have a buy-back clause in the deal with Southampton.
