(Video) All you need to know about Mateo Kovacic

Esteemed Kompany host Steven Mcinerney is joined by Kweku Afari to discuss what Mateo Kovacic brings to Manchester City.

City completed the signing of Kovacic from Chelsea for £30 million as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

With City captain Ilkay Gundogan departing the club, the Croatian international looks like a ready-made replacement.

Kovacic brings a wealth of experience to the Etihad. He’s a four-time winner of the UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid and Chelsea. On top of that, he’s a key part of his national team set-up.

The midfielder has made 95 appearances for Croatia and was a key part of their World Cup squads in 2018 and 2022. Croatia finished as runners-up in 2018 and secured a third-place finish in 2022.

City’s signing of the Croatian international seems a shrewd bit of business from the champions.
