European club eyes up Manchester City’s Carlos Borges

Reports have surfaced that a Bundesliga club are interested in City youngster Carlos Borges.

Borges impressed in all competitions during his most recent campaign for the Blues. He made 33 appearances, scoring 29 goals and registering 18 assists.

Nevertheless, he has been unable to break through to the senior squad as a regular despite training with them.

The 19-year-old is ready to take the next step and has attracted attention from a number of clubs across Europe.

One named linked with the player is Borussia Dortmund, a club that has raided the City academy before.

However, Mark Critchley and Jacob Tanswell of The Athletic claim that Southampton could take another City graduate. The Saints have raided the EDS over the last couple of years and have come back this summer for Shea Charles.

Some sources close to the club believe that the Portuguese international will feature during pre-season. Though an offer for the player could come before that.
