5 Man City stars reach Under 21 European Championship final

Manchester City youngsters were again in action in the semi finals of the UEFA Under 21 European Championship.

England booked their place in the final with a 3-nil win over Israel. Several City youngsters played a starring role as England booked their ticket to the final.

Cole Palmer, Taylor Harwood-Bellis and James Trafford all started for England.

Cole Palmer was the star of the game for England. He scored one and had two assists in a sparkling performance. The young winger tormented the Israeli defense in his best performance of the tournament. It was a man of the match performance from Palmer.

James Trafford kept another clean sheet for England. That’s five games without conceding for City’s young keeper. Though rarely tested in the semi-final, Trafford did his job when called upon. Trafford has been exceptional all tournament for England.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis was once again a rock at the back for England. His defensive partnership with Levi Colwell has formed a strong defensive platform for England as they haven’t conceded in the tournament on their way to the final.

Tommy Doyle finally made his first appearance of the tournament coming on in the 88th minute for England. Doyle hadn’t featured at all in the tournament until his brief substitute appearance against Israel.

For Spain, Sergio Gomez started as Spain booked their ticket to the final with a thumping 5-1 win over Ukraine.

City’s young full back lined up on the left wing and put in another dynamic display. He got himself on the scoresheet in the 78th minute, his third goal of the tournament. It continues the fine form of Gomez who has been one of the stars of the tournament for the Spanish.

Spain will meet England in the final in a battle of the City youngsters.
