Burnley in “advanced talks” with Man City over James Trafford

Following reports earlier today that Leicester City have been interested in James Trafford; they could miss out.

While former assistant coach Maresca could sweep up some City talent as new Head Coach of Leicester, Burnley have their own “inside man”.

Vincent Kompany impressed in his first managerial role in England as he pushed Burnley to promotion after one season in the Championship.

Now he wants to boost his squad ahead of his Premier League managerial debut.

James Trafford has spent the previous campaign at Bolton on loan. Furthermore, he has been impressing as England under 21’s goalkeeper.

Having played 45 games for Bolton in 22/23 he kept 22 clean sheets and conceded 34 goals.

His contract is not due to expire until 2027, though City are open to the move.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano Burnley could pay a fee of £14m plus add-ons. He states: “Burnley are closing in on James Trafford deal”.

Negotiations are ongoing. The City Academy Graduate will play Premier League football.
