Another day and another award for Erling Haaland.
Haaland has won the best footballer of season 22/23 in the Marca top 100 awards.
The award is voted on by former coaches, former players, influencers and a popular vote.
City’s goal scoring machine was delighted to win the award. Haaland was pleased, but still determined for more after accepting the award.
He told Marca: “Thank you very much, but I’m going to keep pushing.”
Haaland is more focused on the next match, and winning more titles with Manchester City, than individual awards.
He added: “My only ambition is to win the next match. The reality is I don’t like to talk about myself to much I don’t feel more special then anyone else.”
“I came to Manchester City for this, to win titles. I can say this is my best season, but we have to keep progressing.”
City’s Norwegian striker beat Lionel Messi and Vinicius Junior to claim the best footballer of the season award.
Another award for Erling Haaland adds to his phenomenal trophy and record breaking goal haul in his debut season at Manchester City.
With the Ballon d’Or and the UEFA player of the year awards still to be decided, Haaland will be one of the favorites for both awards.
Eight Manchester City players made Marca’s top 100 after such a successful season for the club.

After such a historical season to claim the treble, it’s no surprise to see so many Manchester City players figure so prominently in the end of season awards.
