Zack Steffen linked with move to Leicester

Manchester City goalkeeper Zack Steffen has been linked with a move to Leicester City.

Leicester are in the market for a goalkeeper following their relegation to the Championship last season.

The Telegraph reports that Leicester will likely make a move for the City keeper.

With former Manchester City assistant Enzo Maresca taking charge at Leicester, a move for Steffen is now a possibility.

Steffen spent last season on loan in the Championship at Middlesbrough. He was their number one keeper as Middlesbrough had a successful season, before losing 1-nil on aggregate to Coventry in the Championship Playoff semi final.

Upon returning to Manchester City, Zack Steffen would find himself down the pecking order. Ederson and Steffan Ortega would be ahead of the American international.

City’s American international made 45 appearances for Boro last season, keeping 10 clean sheets.

The appointment of Enzo Maresca as Leicester manager may lead to the possibility of more Manchester City EDS players heading to Leicester.

Maresca’s knowledge of who is available for loan for more experience in the next step of their development may open the door for City’s youngsters to move to the King Power Stadium.

Zack Steffen may be the first of several Manchester City players to arrive at Leicester City.
