Rodolfo Borrell to be poached from Manchester City this summer

Rodolfo Borrell, Manchester City’s assistant coach is tipped to join Austin FC this summer. He has offered the role of Sporting Director at the American club following nine years in Manchester.

The announcement will be soon according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.

Rodolfo is a crucial part of Guardiola’s backroom staff. During his time at City he has seen plenty of success.

During his time at Barcelona he aided the development of Iniesta and Fabregas and was Lionel Messi’s first coach. He is undoubtedly an incredible football coach.

He came to England in 2009 to become the Technical Director of Liverpool’s Academy. Subsequently, he joined Manchester City in 2014 as the Academy Technical Director.

Following the arrival of Pep Guardiola in 2016, he joined his coaching team as Assistant Manager. Evidently his football knowledge and experience is phenomenal. Therefore he will be missed at Manchester City.

Rodolfo Borrell is not the only City coach to leave this summer. Enzo Maresca was appointed Leicester City Head Coach ahead of their Championship season.
