James Trafford linked with move to Middlesbrough

James Trafford has been linked with a summer move to Middlesbrough.

City’s young goal keeper is currently on duty with the England under 21 squad at the European under 21 championships.

James Ray of the 72.co.uk reports that Middlesbrough are looking at Trafford to be their number one keeper. Trafford is in line to replace another City goalkeeper in Zack Steffen. Steffen’s loan finished with Middlesbrough at the end of last season.

Zack Steffen has been linked with a permanent move away from Manchester City.

There is no shortage of interest in James Trafford.

Burnley and Sheffield United have also been linked with a move for Manchester City’s ambitious young goal keeper.

On the back of his strong loan spell at Bolton Wanderers and his strong form thus far for the England under 21’s, interest is growing in Trafford.

Trafford currently hasn’t conceded a goal at the UEFA under 21 Championships for England.

His strong form has helped England win their two opening games to seal a place in the quarter finals of the tournament.

Whether or not it’s a loan move or a permanent transfer for Trafford remains to be seen. A fee of £6 million has been reported to secure the services of the Manchester City keeper.
