Manchester City submit bid for Josko Gvardiol

Manchester City are reported to have submitted a transfer bid for Josko Gvardiol.

Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany has revealed that Manchester City have submitted an official bid to RB Leipzig for Gvardiol.

Sky Sports Germany reported that the two clubs have been in negotiations for days in regards to a deal for Gvardiol.

City’s bid is reported to be €90 million plus add ons. If the bid is accepted it would make Josko Gvardiol the most expensive defender in world football.

RB Leipzig were thought to be holding out for €110 million. Gvardiol’s current contract is reported to have a release clause for that amount which comes into effect in 2024.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Manchester City will keep working on a deal with RB Leipzig next week.

Romano also reports that talks between Manchester City and RB Leipzig will enter advanced stages with a new bid.

It was also reported by Romano last night that Manchester City and Gvardiol have agreed personal terms ahead of any bid for the Croatian defender.

Gvardiol has been one of Manchester City’s primary targets this transfer window. City’s interest in Gvardiol has been long held.

With news of Manchester City submitting a bid to RB Leipzig and personal terms being agreed, it seems the deal to send Gvardiol to the Etihad is getting close.
