James Trafford is ready to take the next step in his career.
The Manchester City youngster has shown his quality during his loan spell with Bolton Wanderers last season.
Trafford was a joint winner of Bolton’s young player of the season.
It was tough narrowing down this award to just one, so it’s a joint award this year. 🏆🏆
Two loanees who have given everything for our club this season – congratulations to both @conorbradley03 and @Jamestrafford6! 🫶#bwfc | @BoltonUni pic.twitter.com/YpdTxE28Mj

City’s young English shot stopper kept 22 clean sheets in 48 appearances for Bolton Wanderers.
Trafford’s shot stopping and ability to play with the ball at his feet make him a keeper for the future for Manchester City.
Currently he would have Ederson and Stefan Ortega in front of him in City’s goalkeepers in the first team.
Despite that James Trafford has made no secret of his ambition to be a top keeper in the future.
Trafford spoke with the Daily Mail stating his goals:
“My long-term goal is playing in the Champions League and for England. If you want to be in the Champions League you’ve got to be in the top four teams in England.
“Whether it’s Man City or any other of the big clubs, I believe I will be at that level. Given the opportunity I’d be able to perform. The most important thing for goalies is to be playing and if you’re not playing it is really tough. Next season I’ll play every week. I can’t sit on the bench.”
The ambition is there to match the prodigious talent James Trafford has.
City’s young keeper is currently on duty with the England under 21’s. He started and was fantastic in their U/21 European Championship opener.
He made two vital saves in England’s tournament opening 2-nil win over the Czech Republic.
With his ability and drive, no doubt Trafford will make a mark somewhere next season.
