The Declan Rice transfer saga has heated up quickly following news yesterday that City would make a move.
Initial reports suggested that Manchester City could put in a bid for Declan Rice if Gundogan was to decline an extension with the club.
Confirmation of Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona came on Wednesday.
Football transfers expert Gianluca Di Marzio states:
“Declan Rice getting closer to Man City: confidence to reach final agreement with West Ham”.
However, Jacob Steinberg for The Guardian had earlier reported that:
“Declan Rice keen to join Arsenal despite Manchester City’s plan for a rival bid.”
Sources close to the club deny that any bids for Declan Rice have yet been made. Such hesitation could indicate that after conversations with City he would not be committed to a transfer to the blues.
Meanwhile Arsenal are pushing hard in negotiations with West Ham.
