City youngsters in action for England under 21’s

Several Manchester City youngsters were in action for England at the UEFA Under 21 European Championships last night.

James Trafford and Taylor Harwood-Bellis started for England against the Czech Republic. England won their opening game 2-0.

Trafford was exceptional in goal for England. He made a fantastic early save and another one just before half time. City’s young English goalkeeper was excellent all game for England.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis started and did his job at the back in defense for England. It was a mature display from the City youngster in England’s tournament opener.

Tommy Doyle and Cole Palmer were unused substitutes for England.

James Trafford has made no secret of his ambition to make it to the top. City’s goalkeeper wonderkid spent last season on loan at Bolton. He thrived for Bolton, and another loan move seems on the cards this season to further his development.

Harwood-Bellis spent last season on loan at Burnley. He was outstanding for Vincent Kompany’s men as they claimed promotion to the Premier League in spectacular fashion.

The young City defender has been linked with a loan move back to Burnley to gain Premier League experience.

England’s next game at the UEFA under 21 Championships is against Israel. It will give the Manchester City’s youngsters another chance to shine.
