Kyle Walker could snub Bayern for worlds “number one football brand”

Fans were shocked last week following reports by The Athletics Sam Lee that Kyle Walker was planning on leaving Manchester City.

The news came out of the blue, yet feasible due to a spell on the bench for the right-back midseason.

Despite a change in tactics and system, Walker proved as crucial as ever to Guardiola as he returned for the business end of the season.

The England international had been flying high and contained some of the worlds best wingers.

Mbappe and Vinicius Jr barely had a look in against the boys in blue.

Nevertheless, one of the biggest games in history for Manchester City and the boss kept Walker on the bench.

Painful for one of City’s captains, though ever the professional as he supported on the bench. Until he replaced John Stones in the 82nd minute. Ensuring that the blues got over that elusive Champions League line.

Fast forward a week since the final. A week since the reports of Walker leaving broke. We are now hearing rumours that he is in talks to renew his contract.

Simon Jones for MailOnline states that: “Kyle Walker wants to stay at Manchester City and is in talks over extending his deal – despite Bayern Munich negotiations over £15m move”.

Manchester City could entice both Walker and captain Ilkay Gundogan to extend their contracts with the club this summer.
