Phil Foden plays part for England as they beat Malta 0-4

See the highlights as England took on Malta in the Euro 2024 qualifiers on Friday. While Phil Foden was the only Manchester City man to make an appearance.

The Thee Lions remain top of group C after wining 0-4 away.

Our City stars were named on the bench, having been left out of the starting XI following our historic treble win.

Phil Foden was the only blue substitute as he was brought on after half time.

England took the lead early on through an own goal forced by a Saka cross.

Trent Alexander-Arnold doubled England’s lead and captain Harry Kane converted a penalty to make it 0-3.

Although England were the far superior side before half-time, that did not stop Southgate bringing on Foden.

During the 59th minute Foden produced what would have been a fine assist for the captain who scuffed his chance.

However, the 4th goal came from a Callum Wilson penalty strike.

Our unused substitutes included: Jack Grealish, Kalvin Phillips, John Stones and Kyle Walker.
