Riyad Mahrez linked with move to Saudi Arabia

Riyad Mahrez has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano tweeted the news that Saudi side Al-Ahli were interested in signing City’s Algerian winger.

As Fabrizio Romano reported Manchester City wouldn’t allow Mahrez to leave the club for free. A fee between Al-Ahli and Manchester City would need to be negotiated. Unlike the recent blockbuster free transfer of Karim Benzema from Real Madrid to Al-Ittihad Club.

Riyad Mahrez has been a important part of Manchester City’s treble pursuit this season. City’s mercurial winger has scored 15 goals this season and contributed 13 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions.

To emphasize this fact Mahrez scored a memorable hat-trick against Sheffield United in City’s 3-0 FA Cup Semi Final win. Mahrez hat-trick booked Manchester City’s ticket to Wembley to secure a famous 2-1 win over Manchester United last weekend in the FA Cup final.

With the Saudi Arabian clubs now entering the transfer market and keen to make an impact with their vast resources, a new layer has been added to the upcoming transfer window.

It may be a busy summer ahead at the Etihad with speculation on Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan’s futures at the club.
