Manchester City are on the search for a midfielder this summer.
City bosses have approached a Premier League proven midfielder with Bernardo Silva unsure about his future.
While the Premier League champions had shown interest in Jude Bellingham, there was strong competition from Real Madrid.
Now Manchester City have turned their attention to Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic.
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City have been in contact with the Croatian and he “will leave” Chelsea.

Kovacic has one year remaining on his contract. He joined Chelsea on loan from Real Madrid in 2018 and made his move permanent the following season.
Following a successful spell with the London club, winning a Europa and Champions League. Unsurprisingly, he is keen on a move away from the club after a poor season.
Chelsea seemed a shadow of their former selves despite spending significantly over the last two transfer windows.
As a result, they are now set to have a clear out and reduce the squad size this summer.
Will the blues get their target this time?
